Family Involvement

Parents and guardians are crucial to creating young readers. Energizing Education helps them get involved through family night events and by providing tips and resources for promoting reading in the home. Family nights are especially popular. Each has its own theme, such as Fun with Money (sponsored by CP Federal Credit Union to teach financial literacy), holiday themes in November and December, a Chocolate Night featuring sweet treats to make candy bars, and an all school event in downtown Jackson at The Michigan Theatre. Through events like these, families and the community are brought together to encourage reading and learning.
